The drill bit, drill rod, coupling sleeve, and shank adapter are connected by their threads to form a rock drill string. The commonly used thread forms include rope thread (R25, R28, R32, R35, R38, SR28, SR35) and trapezoidal thread (T38, T45, T51, ST58, ST68, GT60).
